And Just Like That, the Seasons Change

GoldenHourInvite

Each year, when fall rolls around, you can find me and my family getting in touch with nature on the trails of the Cumberland gap. It’s on these adventures that I find myself the most connected with my family and the most inspired to make jewelry.

When I Know Fall is Here

Today I caught the entire sunrise, not exactly a unique spectacle to take in for any parent of young children, but this particular morning, I knew it was fall. The sun climbed up later and more slowly today, and it left behind a heavy dew that in a few months time will turn to frost on our windshields. I was wearing a sweater and I could hardly see little Delaney rustling out of her swaddle through the steam coming up from my coffee.

MarshmellowEating

Every year when autumn stops whispering hints of its arrival in our ears and really starts making its presence known, we hike the Stone Door Trail in South Cumberland State Park. If for some unimaginable reason you’re not a fall person, the glassy, marbled rock, lush amber covered hills, and wet, sable earth of this place will make you one, I promise. We light a big fire at night that seems to smell and crackle differently than our summer ones do, we roast veggies (so healthy) and make s’mores (so not healthy, but really good) and wake up with chocolate on our faces and smoke in our hair. It is where I feel most connected to my family and most inspired to make jewelry for yours.

New Season. New Beads. New Jewelry

Our Fall 2017 collection is almost here and I don’t know that I’ve ever felt more excited to send jewelry out into the world. I experimented with new textured beads to add an extra element of sensory fun for the littles and borrowed the rust, dust, and rock of the Cumberland Gap to build the foundation of my palette. Because I’m from California and a bit of a color junkie, you’ll find a little nod to the desert in there as well with pops of turquoise and burnt sienna. We’ll be sure to bring them along to Franklin for Sunday Market in October for you to get your hands on!

Golden Hour Supper + Social

Speaking of exciting things in October, on the 12th January Moon will be co-hosting The Golden Hour Supper + Social with our dear friend Holly, at Golden Roots. This twilight gathering is a new kind of moms’ night out, a modern dinner party dedicated to celebrating amazing mothers (like you!) with a four course menu, wine pairings by Robin Riddell of Tavola, and expertly curated gift bags. There will also be a diaper drive on site to help to benefit families in need. We cannot wait to love on all of you amazing women. It would be an honor to have you at our table! Stay tuned for more details!

I hope you and your wonderful families are enjoying the fall splendor as much as we are. May your mornings be crisp and the leaves under your feet be crunchy.

XO Jenny
