We all have our favorite ornament
You know, the one that gets the best spot on the best branch of the Christmas tree and mysteriously finds its way into all of the holiday photos. These are mine:
We made it for Shep’s very first Christmas and I haven’t been able to put it away since. It’s always displayed somewhere in our house, hanging on a window or a cabinet knob, perched on a bookcase, on my bedside table where I can pick it up and cry about how big he’s getting. It’s the perfect keepsake and all it took to make a was a little salt dough, some of the very first prototype January Moon beads, and an unoccupied afternoon. Just look at that little paw! My only regret was that I didn’t make a hundred more to give to allllll the relatives. When Delaney showed up, we made about of a dozen!
Because these mementos have been so precious to me and family and because it’s waaaaaay more fun that hitting the mall for gifts in December, I’ve teamed up with Pinch Pot Love and Scout Baby to host a Holiday Handprint Ornament Workshop Sunday, November 25th at Emily Arrow’s Singalong Shop from 10am-3pm. We’ll be working in 30 minute time slots with groups of 4 to make sure that everybody has the supplies and support they need to make something super special. Little mitts up to 2 years work best for the handprint ornaments but all ages are welcome, we’ll have blanks that the older artiste can paint and customize with their name and the date. Tickets are $40 per kiddo and the price includes 2 keepsake ornaments with name stamped, 3 January Moon beads, rope, glazing, and finishing. Additional ornaments can be made for $10 apiece and all will be ready for pick up at the Singalong Shop on December 14th. To sign up click here.
Let’s make some holiday magic, y’all!
